Beatles UK Let It Be Album With book from Box set. Red apple 2U matrix.Both EX

This is from an original UK box set. The record “ Let It Be “ on Apple Records PCS 7096. Matrices YEX 773- 2 U - 1 MA side one . YEX 774-2U - 1 ( crossed out 2 above one ,or so it appears ) 1 GGP. Cover has red Apple on back of cover. I have been in the music business professionally since 1967, and had a lot of things given me prior to release . See how many GET BACK books you see with a cover like this , I actually got it before the record came out . Garrod and Lofthouse must have changed the construction at some point , the gummed laminated cover is like a UK early Beatles album. Review pictures ... Then the book is in remarkable condition as well, no pages falling out completely intact, never saw one this clean ,and sturdy before ( I was careful when taking pictures of inside of cover ) This is one of the very first ever printed books, you’ll notice the gum like Garrod and Lofthouse used on the flipback covers is the same on this book. If it looks like a blemish on first photo, it’s not, it’s a reflection off the laminated cover .  They later rectified that. Inside you’ll see a stamp , they had not as of yet pasted the insert credits in the book. You’ll have to peel off the back of the credit page ,if you want to affix it. I noticed two things . It appears to have Japanese writing on small tab at top of the credit insert, and on the green record label it has a gold Odeon stamp . I put a closeup in of the credits pages. That could also be for the Japanese market , as the Beatles were on Odeon in Japan . I imagine you may ( or may not , your call ) be able to peel sticker off on label, I’m not going to do it . The record ,the cover ,and the book are all English . It may have been an export to Japan most likely . Review pictures . Condition. Vinyl EX just a few hairlines , a strong EX  Cover EX , nothing even close to a seam split , the cover is really nice,spine completely readable with no flaws . Labels EX see pictures , no wear around spindle hole . Inner sleeve is an Apple inner sleeve ,with the address of Apple Records . I forgot ,and left in cover, I’ll try to pull it out . VG+ from what I recall, certainly no seam splits ,just possible light creasing from taking it out of cover . These are rare ... Book, EX as pictures suggest . Nothing is loose ,all fully intact . I’m afraid when you open a fifty year old laminated cover book, it could do damage ,so you’re getting the best book imaginable . I personally would not open it further that the credit page . There is the typical wear on the laminated sides of cover of book , just like a flipback cover . You can view cover in pictures .  I realize it doesn’t have the tray or box, you can buy trays now , I don’t know about the boxes however . This would look great in the tray with just book and record . Grading . I think anyone that uses NM or M better have an unopened ,unplayed record, that’s a slippery slope . I feel this record,cover ,and book dictate a grade lower,hence EX because everything is EX , not mint , and unless you find a country outside of the UK you would have to have a sealed box set . This is not perfect ,but close enough, I doubt you’ll find a cleaner record ,cover ,and book from the UK . This one is quirky enough for a high end collector . Look at the very top of published / credits page , you’ll see the small Japanese tab separating the rest of the paste in . Shipping . $8.00 in USA . Rest of world $22.00 ( I’m hoping they have international book rates ) . No Russia ,China , Turkey or Portugal . 

I must add this . This book is EXTREMELY RARE ! I’ve checked out every Let It Be Box set imaginable , looking for a Garrod ,and Lofthouse book that has the gummed laminated cover . I didn’t find one . As I mentioned , I got this is 1969 not really knowing the significance. I just watched a You Tube video “ unboxing Original UK Beatles “ let it be “ box set . It’s worth watching , you’ll notice the cover on book does not have the gum/glue/adhesive , whatever you want to call it . That ,and the fact that the pastdown credit sheet had not ever been adhered to the inside cover . All you have to do is peel off back of the insert ,and it will affix to the page , I have not done so. I think the stamp ,like many UK Beatles albums I have were more for the sake of an album not being for sale , more like a promo or something . I have looked for any info I could find on the book, and came up blank in respect to this books cover . I shouldn’t dismiss the album, and album cover , but the book is without question one of the very first ever printed . I’m sure there are others that were given to people in the industry at the time , but I’m quite certain that Garrod and Lofthouse changed the construction prior to the actual release in the box set . If anyone else has seen a cover on the “ Get Back “ book with the gummed edges , and missing the inner credit label , please let me know. I would love to know where they got it .
