WOW ! I’m just looking at other Parlophone 1965 UK Stereo pressings . “ Incredibly rare, Impossible to find . Could only buy Stereo as special order etc. “ That ad does not go near the mothers ,and stampers , last I looked it was over $500. Point being, that’s NOT my style. The Beatles sold in the millions , I doubt you would have had much trouble finding one for a couple of pounds in 1965.Moving on. The price is spot on, you won’t find a player and cover like this for $75.00 on eBay . This is a second pressing, albeit a 1965 pressing, rather than a later one, only reason I’m confident saying that is because the mothers ,and stampers are impressive . Catalog number PCS 3085. Matrices ,mothers,stampers.YEX 178-3- mother 2 stamper M . YEX 179-3 mother 2 stampers GM . Not bad 4th stamper side one, and 14 stamper side two. Considering this album sold in the millions, even in Stereo I’m sure, those are good mothers and stampers. Where the vinyl got pressed from these stampers is anybody’s guess. I know that they are better than many first pressings , as I’ve got first pressing with later mothers and stampers .Condition. First off. I’m a musician, hence I love the hatchet job George did on the Stereo mix of Rubber Soul left side instruments, right side vocals ,and nothing in the middle, great for dissecting how the Beatles did what they did. Be aware the separation is not the norm for a Stereo presssing, and EMI I believe didn’t change it in the UK until CDs came to be the norm. Cover is EX . No seam splits or even close. All flipbacks in order,the usual small crease on corners of flipbacks . Review pictures. Garrod / Lofthouse ( No STEREO on upper right of front cover unfortunately. I sold one of those on eBay last year, got a nice sum, but it was also the black STEREO not the silver. The black is much rarer, they changed to silver after the black, because nobody could see the black writing on top right corner because cover was so dark up there. I know ,that’s just a trivia question :) The labels. I couldn’t begin to describe them. Around the spindle holes on both sides it appears the labels had rubbed off on something. I took enough pictures to show what I’m suggesting . It’s ironic as there is no spindle wear, but the KT tax code on side one I think demonstrates what I’m trying to say. Same on both sides. I’ve banged my head against the wall trying to figure out how a record in this condition can show this . The spindle holes show no white out whatsoever . The vinyl has the usual hairline suspects , still EX condition, and plays through perfectly . Quiet , no pops ,clicks ,skips etc. quiet between tracks . The labels are cosmetic . I hope I’ve included enough pictures so you may glean what I’m talking about. It’s a very nice cover and record. Not mint looking, but certainly a high respectable album that sounds fantastic. But you must remember . “ this is insanely rare, you never see this album come up for sale, so don’t miss this opportunity to buy this incredibly rare Stereo Beatles album. Remember this was a special order album, as nobody had a Stereo phonograph in 1965 , they only pressed very few of these extremely rare records . I can’t impress on you enough how MEGA RARE this is , don’t let this record get away . I don’t know the mothers or stampers off the top of my head, but it has the first 2/2 matrices . You’ll never find another one . JUST LOOK YOULL NEVER SEE THIS RECORD , ITS THAT RARE “ Why do I feel I’m going to be hearing from someone :) I’m going to be paying for my sense of humour I think .
