Description
This is the 1968 Italian promo set of four Apple singles released in a double gatefold card sleeve. It includes an exclusive Beatles interview (in English) and three ordinary edition Apple singles from the label's initial artists roster. These singles are identical to the regular releases except for the artist pictures in the inside gatefold. A metallic stud-hole is punched through the top left of the sleeve, presumably to hang it up on display.
Not surprisingly, given the fragile nature of the packaging and the age, this is in fair to VG condition, at best, depending on which aspect of the item is being scrutinized. The best that can be said is that the record labels are all unmarked, with the unavoidable darkening of the b-side white labels that comes with age. All four records show no warping. I have never played the records and can only give a visual description of the vinyl (see below)
The gatefold cardboard sleeve is fair. You can see from the photos the condition it's in. Note that it is held together at the middle seam by tape and that, for some reason only known to the original purchaser, he felt the need to write his name no fewer than 5 times on the sleeve.
DPR 108 The Beatles INTERVISTA: PARTE 1 & 2 A half dozen or so very small visible scratches
APPLE 2 Mary Hopkin QUILLI ERANO GIORNI (Those Were The Days)/TURN TURN TURN This looks pretty, with no obvious scratches. I'm assuming the A-side features the Italian language version of the song but, again, I've never played it to confirm.
APPLE 3 Jackie Lomax SOUR MILK SEA/THE EAGLE LAUGHS AT YOU This one is the worst of the 4, with at least one long scratch and several short scratches.
APPLE 5 The Iveys MAYBE TOMORROW/AND HER DADDY'S A MILLIONAIRE Some small scratches & scuffs.
All of these records could stand a cleaning but, even then, would not be considered 'play' copies.
The last item is a 7" picture sleeve which came with pirate copies of the interview single released around 1980.
