Description
THE BEATLES - 'WE CAN WORK IT OUT'/'DAY TRIPPER'
This unusual variant was pressed in 1969 (or even slightly later), as indicated by the disc's rounded edges and and the slightly raised ring around each centre hole. Also it seems that EMI were using up old stocks of 1st pressing, 'Parlophone..' rimmed labels. Interestingly this copy is just one stamper letter away than the solid centered copy I also have listed this week.
The disc itself is on the is on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 5389
Both labels have the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Parlophone Co..' rim texts.
there is no purchase tax code in the centre of either label.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18341-4 & 7XCE 18342-1:
Stamper codes: 12/ARO & 12/AAT
Housed in an original Parlophone company cover.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
Both are clean & intact with no noticeable spindle marks or wear to either hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean & glossy playing surfaces with one or two light surface scuffs on each side, but nothing I would call a scratch. Close inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of harmless wispy paper type hairlines consistent with the small number of plays this copy has received. The disc has a slightly unevenly trimmed edge but this does not affect play and both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Play: EXCELLENT +
Played less than a handful of times, the full mono sound is clean, warm and clear on both tracks. My single careful play-check found no traces of any groove/play wear to any song or any other audible faults or wear.
Cover: VERY GOOD
General wear but easily replaceable.
