Description
The Beatles "White Album" - rare original UK Mono LP. Low number first pressing no. 0055297 in VG+ condition.
- This is an excellent copy of a first issue Apple PMC 7067/8 with Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gatefold sleeve, poster & four colour prints, and dark green labels with "Sold in U.K..." text.
- Matrix numbers on the four individual sides are XEX 709, XEX 710, XEX 711 & XEX 712.
- Visually all four sides are very clean. The vinyl has retained a bright black glossy appearance and the labels are in excellent condition. The labels contain the "Sold in U.K..." text but do not include the "An EMI Recording" text that appears on later issues.
- Both discs lie flat and unwarped on the turntable.
- The audio playback of the four sides is generally excellent.
- The laminated gatefold sleeve is the original cream colour, and does show some signs of useage and ageing, but no more than would be expected. The embossed "the BEATLES" logo still stands proud of the surface, with the normal bubbling around the letters. The issue number, 0055297, is still clear in the original gey print ink under the laminate. The inside of the gatefold is generally clean, with slight ageing on the flip back seams and along the top opening edges.
- Both black inner sleeves are intact but have small tears around the cental opening. Otherwise in good condition.
- The four glossy photographs are in excellent condition.
- The inner lyric sheet/poster is in gernerally good condition, but does have a 7" tear along the bottom of the central vertical fold.
