Up for auction is an exteremely low numbered copy of the Beatles album, popularly known as the "White Album". According to the very low number this must have been purchased on the first or second day of issue!! Any number below 100,000 is now considered very desirable. The album is still complete with all four photos and the poster.
Vinyls: VG++. There are a few light hairlines here and there. I have played both vinyls from beginning to end and am glad to be able to report that there are no problems at all. There are NO jumps or skips. Neither are there any clicks. There is, however, sometimes some static to be heard esp. near the beginning of each disc but this soon subsides and the audio experience is fabulous. A credit to these first pressings with high groovewalls!!
I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! These tracks ...... you can hear them a thousand times but they will never ever bore you.There are not any jumps or skips. Listening to "Revolution" now, marvellous! There is not too much background noise at all!! Very remarkable for this 1968 vinyl!!! I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!!
Gatefold sleeve: EX. Most of these are usually trashed. This is a great example without any front creasing and only a couple of mini underlaminate creases to the back. The inside gatefold is in jolly great condition with unmarked flipbacks. All edges are straight and the opening is crisp. There are no seamsplits. The yellowing is only in a very light degree almost as first issued. This has an exteremely low number of 0064307.
Inserts: All 4 photos are there in great condition with just slight creases to the bottom edges. The poster is the original one and has been handled but not hung. On the corner of the folds worn through but just everso slightly about 2mm.
The original black inner sleeves are both present. These do have some seamsplits and creases around the edges.
Labels : All are EX with light spindle marks. NO writing, NO marks.
These very early low numbered White Albums are nowadays hard to find. Most are now in private collections and I hardly ever come across any now.
I will send this out with stiffeners on each side and a custom heavy duty LP mailer. The discs will be separate from the outer sleeve to prevent knifing.
