Description

  • This copy of the Beatles White Album was bought on 22 November 1968, the first day of release.
  • Hence the very low number of 0001318
  • The Matrix numbers are XEX 709 to XEX 712.  Record reference is PMC 7067
  • The records have been played but not much in the past 30 years and remain in good condition.
  • The Apple logo on the discs is the original dark green type. The words An EMI Recording are absent from the label. This is a very rare variant and appeared on just the first few copies.
  • The original large poster and the four photographs of the Beatles are all included. The large poster is in one piece although is torn along some of the folds. The four photographs have marks on the corners from where they were stuck on the bedroom wall. (That was what we did in those days!)
  • The album cover is the original top opening type. It is in good condition but does have a blemish on the front, bottom left; the result of sellotape having been stuck on. The blemish is about 3 sq cm in size. It is possible that it could be cleaned up. The cover has been protected by a plastic sleeve for most of its life. There is some slight scuffing to the spine and corners but pretty good for 40 years of age.
  • The original black inner sleeves were replaced by the conventional white ones with plastic lining. For the collector, these could easily be replaced with genuine black ones from another copy.
  • Remember, this copy is number 0001318, one of the lowest numbers you are likely to find.
