Description
Beatles “White Album” STEREO DOUBLE LP GERMAN IMPORT | 1st Press Top Loader Low Numbed. Issued by Apple in 1968.
The original German release from 1968 comes in a top loader gatefold cover and has a black stamped No. on the cover’s front. The rear cover lacks a catalog number, but rather simply states “Stereo”.
These first pressings were numbered from 1 to 0125000. The item up for auction has the number 0065180.
While this is a rare first pressing, low numbered German White Album, it has obvious condition issues.
COVER: There is a credit card-sized piece in the front gatefold that was torn and is missing. This is obvious from the photo. The spine has been repaired with clear cello tape. One of the seams has a 2-inch split. The corners are rounded with age.
INNER SLEEVES: The original black inner sleeves are included, but both have partial lower seam splits.
POSTER AND PHOTOS: These are missing and not included in the auction.
VINYL: Conservatively, I’d consider these as VG-, although one could argue for VG condition. There are obvious light marks from the needle cartridge and swirls from coming in-and-out of the inner sleeves.
