'WHITE ALBUM'
1968 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING DOUBLE LP
**No. 0096438**
This 1968 1st mono pressing is numbered: No. 0096438 and comes with: all '-1' matrices, black inners, poster and the four colour portrait photos.
I have played the entire LP at volume on high-end audio equipment and graded carefully and accurately for your complete satisfaction.
This excellent UK mono first pressing on the dark green Apple labels: PMC 7067/8
All labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Apple Records...' rims.
This copy includes the 'An E.M.I. Recording' statement on all labels.
There is no tax/price code visible on any label.
Housed in a fully laminated, top loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover numbered: No.0096438.
Complete with: black inners, matt 'Garrod & Lofthouse' poster and four 'thick card' colour photos.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 4/OD, 5/GMO, 4/GDR, 8/AM
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
A respectable example constructed from thick, heavy card stock which bears light to moderate handling and storage wear.
The cover has some slight yellowing to the spine area and some light laminate creases to the edges but no major faults.
The laminate is clean and retains its deep gloss and is intact around the raised 'The Beatles' wording. The number is very bold and clear.
The top-opening edge is clean and sharp displaying very light wear only and is without any tears or 'feathering'.
The upper left corner has been 'bumped' with the lower left is slightly bruised but the right corners are sharp and unworn.
The inside gatefold shows a few wrinkles to the upper spine but no marks or writing anywhere.
The spine is strong and although the laminate has split, all the text is readable.
Disc 1 Labels: EXCELLENT
Visual: EXCELLENT MINUS
Both surfaces are extremely clean and bright, undulled by groove-wear and retain their deep gloss shine.
Inspection under a halogen desk lamp reveals some light sleeve-removal hairlines and a few feint non-feelable marks but deep or heavy scratches
The disc lies 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD PLUS
Warm, clear and detailed sound from every track with just the slightest hint of wear audible on some extreme loud peaks.
An occaisional soft 'tick' is audible between some tracks or during quiet passages (e.g. 'Blackbird') but no hiss, heavy distortion, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Again, the surfaces are extremely bright and clean with only some wispy sleeve removal hairlines visible under the halogen desk lamp.
100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
Clearly not frequently played, the sound quality is excellent with no crackle or groovewear distortion anywhere
The heavier tracks are loud and clear and the quiter songs are clean and detailed without crackle, clicks or pops.
There is a few seconds of hiss and on the opening groove of side 4, but there are no jumps or repeats anywhere.
