1963 UK 1st **STEREO** PRESSING LP
***MID-SIZED COVER LOGO***
This fine 1963 STEREO 1st pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3045
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.
Label 2 carries the '..Gotta..' mispelling & incorrect 'Jobete..' publishing credit for 'Money'.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse', 'mid-sized' stereo logo cover.
Complete with original 'Use Emitex' lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 111-2 & YEX 112-2
Stamper numbers: 3/AP & 1/RO
Labels: NEAR MINT
The small spots on the side 2 label above the catalogue number are flecks of silver ink from the original printing & not missing paper.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are MINT viewed in natural light and bear just a few wispy paper hairlines when viewed directly under a halogen desk lamp.
Otherwise this is a pristine disc with no other marks or any scratches to either side.
Quality, thick, sharp-edged vinyl which lies 100% flat on both sides with no dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
Hardly ever played, this is a wonderful warm & clear sounding disc with no trace of crackle or groovewear distortion in either channel or on any track.
Even the easily damaged tracks; 'Please Mr Postman' & 'Money', play perfectly without any break-up or distortion.
Both run-ins & all bands play extremely quielty with no clicks, jumps or repeats anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
This rare example retains its high-gloss, unscratched laminate bearing a heavy crease to the lower right & a few other light creases elsewhere.
The acutal corners themselves display some bruising but both opening edges are clean, sharp & unworn on both sides.
The rear panel shows some creasing but is clean & white with no discoloration, marks, writing or missing paper.
There is some creasing to the flipbacks but all are intact and the spine & both seams are unsplit & undamaged.
Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp.
All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
