THE BEATLES - 'WITH THE BEATLES'
1963 UK 1st PRESS *MONO* LP
**SUPERB EARLY COPY**
This very first 1963 UK 1st mono pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1206
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but carry & 'Parlophone Co..' rims.
The side 2 label bears the incorrect 'Jobete' publishing credit for 'Money'.
Also present is the the misspelt title: 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me'
The early 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in the rarer front laminated, tri-flipback Ernest J. Day printed cover with the 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' title.
Complete with its original poly-lined inner-sleeve.
This copy comes with an original 'Parlophone' release sheet insert dated May 1963 which lists the 'Please, Please Me' LP.
Matrix numbers: XEX 447-1 & XEX 448-1
Stamper numbers: 3/GG & 5/GH
Visual: EXCELLENT
Extremely clean surfaces which retain their 'as new' deep gloss shines, bearing just a few light fingernail marks on side 1 only.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals a few minor handling marks and faint inner-sleeve removal hairlines lines on side 2 but no other wear.
The disc has a slight dish to it but this is barely noticeable when playing and does not affect sound or play in any way.
Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS
This copy has clearly received just careful play on top quality equipment as all tracks play without any trace of groovewear distortion or background noise.
Apart from a faint 'swoosh' between tracks on side 1, there is little to fault on this expolsive sounding copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS
A superb example of this iconic cover with an unyellowed, undamaged high-gloss front panel which bears just 2 small wrinkles on the lower edge, but no 'thumbnails' or other wear.
The corners are all clean & sharp and both opening edges are in perfect condition.
The rear panel is pristine white and apart from a tiny section of missing paper (just above the Parlophone symbol) it is in 'as new' condition.
All flipbacks, seams and the spine are in perfect condition.
Inner sleeve: EXCELLENT
Insert: EXCELLENT
Some light creasing to both.
