RARE LABEL VARIANT, FIRST -1 STAMPER ON SIDE 2 **WITHOUT** SOLD IN UK LABEL TEXT TO BOTH LABELS.
This album was issued as the Soundtrack album for the cartoon film ‘Yellow Submarine’although the album did not include some of the tracks that were featured in the film. Yellow Submarine spent just two weeks at the No 3 position. At the same time The Beatles White Album was still at No 1.
Album Description and Condition:
This RARE, version, dates back to post JULY 1969 at the time that EMI/Apple was in the process of scrapping the record label reference ‘Sold in UK subject to resale price conditions see price lists’. This RARE VARIANT is on the traditional DARKER Green Apple Record Labels. The record labels are printed with the ‘Apple Records’ label rim, with ‘Mfd in UK’ and WITHOUT ‘Sold in UK….’ label text to both record labels.
Both record labels are in SUPERB Mint Minus condition. A FINE set of UNDAMAGED record labels, beautiful clear print, and no more than one faint centre spindle line to each label.
Both sides of the GLEAMING Vinyl Disc are in Mint Minus condition, NEW LOOKING Vinyl Surfaces.
Side 1 matrix: YEX 715-3 and Side 2 YEX 716-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1 RG and Side 2: 4 AM.
The album play’s through without any faults, a very nice Stereo sound quality.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL white printed Apple Records made ib Gt Britain inner bag which is in CLEAN Excellent condition, there are NO seam splits or tears, just light creasing and age toning.
The Vinyl LP is housed in at’s ORIGINAL, GLOSSY, Front LAMINATED Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, with two Horizontal RED lines either side of the sleeve notes.
The front panel of the sleeve is an IMPRESSIVE example in Excellent to Excellent Plus condition. The front panel still retains its DEEP GLOSS SHINE, with only the mildest record indentation, and light laminate pinches.
The reverse panel of the sleeve is very CLEAN, showing only minor age tanning to the opening edge, and a name written in ink next to the side one track listing. All three flipbacks are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge too is UNDAMAGED and the wording to the spine edge is CLEARLY printed ‘The Beatles Yellow Submarine’.
A very nice example of this late1969 second issue Yellow Submarine album, WITHOUT the sold in UK label reference.
