Description
This is the original Corgi Die cast model circa 1968 - the rare first run, with the white and yellow hatches, not to be confused with the later model which has red hatches.
The paintwork has a couple of chips, but both hatch mechanisms work well, as does the revolving periscope action.
Please contact me if you need any other info.
Just brought to my attention by prospective buyer - rear propellor as 2 blades out of 3.

This was an early variation that had a very short run. On this issue the yellow and white hatches match the color of the hull and it has the red strip outlining the top half of the sub which the later variation is missing. These characteristics of the sub are found on the sub in the film "Yellow Submarine". This is the way the toy is pictured on the back of the box on all of the packages and in the photograph in the Corgi catalog that came with the toy. According to Perry Cox, this variation is 50 to 1 rarer than the later issues that same year'

This beautiful model featured two hatches that lifted at the touch of buttons on the side of the craft to allow models of John, Paul, George and Ringo to pop into view. The 'Yellow Submarine' commands very high prices today amongst both die-cast collectors and Beatles related collectors too'. - But of course, if you know your stuff you knew that anyway!!.
