1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse album sleeve in Ex condition . Red lines are seen on reverse to confirm the earliest issue sleeve, above and below the sleeve notes !!! Tri flip back , front laminated, single sleeve in remarkable condition, showing little signs of age ! This is a very scarce 1st issue album cover WITHOUT patents pending text, on lower right corner, but does have Garrod & Lofthouse printed text , seldom seen on this early issue and mega rare !!!Spinal column is excellent and is very smooth with no rough splits on the laminate ! Beautiful gloss on front face and strong coloration . Clean reverse face with no graffiti, no damage to flip backs and in superb format! This sleeve is the genuine 1st UK issue album cover with Nothing is Real text on front face, the old Apple mark (which looks like a drawing), located on lower left reverse corner and and the words APPLE RECORDS text . The EMI recording credit is printed in parentheses .The UK liner note is written by Derek Taylor. These small differences signify THE genuine article and this sleeve is completely different from the US/Japanese version. Beautiful format. Mega rare collectors’ item in remarkable condition .
Vinyl
Excellent sheen, with a deep gloss to the surfaces. A few light surface marks, visible if angled against a strong light, which disappear beneath its staggering sheen ! Excellent visual !
Audio
Excellent, for most of play ,with no serious faults at all. No skips, nor jumps, nor repeats ! A gem of an example ! Beautiful monotone delivery, with tones delivered with a razor sharp edge and a clear definition ! No audible scratches during the music . No skips. No jumps. No repeats. Sensational depth of sound that only these 1st pressings can convey.The aural delivery is exceptional and one will be hard pressed, to locate a better example, of this monster Beatles’ classic.
Labels
Dark green, 1st issue, Apple label format in Excellent condition with spindle lines visible . Sold in UK text , confirming a very first and earliest first press, with no damage to report ,save for an intrusive spindle graze, which just produces a loss of coloration ( seen on side 2 below the text,) hardly visible! Lovely examples of this mega rare release !
Complete with the original ,plain BLACK , inner sleeve with flip backs on reverse. One tiny seam split on lower edge if viewed from the inside. Excellent- condition, with central edge perfect and no rips, nor tears on top edge.
One for the serious vinyl enthusiast and this classic is of true investment quality.
