Description
The Beatles - Yellow Submarine
This great copy of the Beatles' penultimate film soundtrack is an extremely rare MONO first pressing on the sought-after dark green Apple Records label.
The vinyl has the first variant labels which are identifiable by the 'Sold in U.K. ..' text printed above the spindle hole.
The vinyl is housed within the original first variant front-side laminated flip-back sleeve which has two red lines on the reverse and no manufacturers credit in thebottom right hand corner.
The early mother stampers are evidence that this record is one of the first few thousand pressed and will have been a 'first day of sale' purchase.
The album is complete with the original black die-cut inner sleeve.

Vinyl: VERY GOOD +
Labels: EXCELLENT
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. There is only a handful of visible spindle marks.
Visual: VERY GOOD / VERY GOOD +
The vinyl retains deep-gloss playing surfaces. Side 1 has several visible surface marks; one of which is feel-able across 'All You Need is Love'. Side 2 is much improved with only light hairline marks visible under strong daylight. Not perfect but when you consider that it is 50 years old you understand why.
Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +
Although the record has clearly been played over the years it is still an enjoyable listen. There are several audible pops throughout the mark mentioned above. They do not detract from the overall listening experience in my opinion, though. Side 2 is a much cleaner listen. As is expected of the early MONO recording, the bass is deep and full, the mids are precise and clear and the top end is well defined. Again, it is not perfect but a record full of character for those not expecting or wanting such.
Sleeve: VERY GOOD +
The original sleeve looks great. The front retains the original lustre and the cover art maintains vibrant colours. There is a subtle but visible top-to-bottom crease off-centre to the front. The reverse is clean. All four flip-backs are in tact. All four corners show subtle softening. The opening and top and bottom edges along with the square spine all display very minor wear. Not perfect but a really presentable example.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. There is the unavoidable signs of subtle ring wear. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
