THE BEATLES - 'YELLOW SUBMARINE'
1969 UK *1st MONO* PRESSING LP
**NEAR MINT DISC**
This outstanding 1969 UK 1st MONO pressing is on the dark green Apple label: PMC 7070
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
There is no tax/price code visible on either label.
Housed in the early 'first type' front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with a blank lower flipback.
Complete with its original die-cut matt-black lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 715-1 & XEX 716-1
Stamper numbers: 1/GD & 1/L
Disc weight: 133g
Both labels bear just two spindle marks around each centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are pristine and appear 'MINT' when viewed in daylight with a full deep gloss shine with no cloudy or dull areas.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals only some small & faint marks as a result of storage in the matt-black inner sleeve.
However, there are absolutely no other marks or any scratches to either side.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This copy has only been played TWICE by its original owner on good quality equipment and all tracks play cleanly and clearly with no groovewear distortion or background noise.
Both run-ins and all bands play silently and there are no clicks or pops - even on the delicate orchestral side - or any other traces of audible wear.
Cover: EXCELLENT
An vibrant and clean example which is firm, flat and unworn with 'creamy' front panel which is a feature of these early covers.
The front panel image of slightly offset but retains its unscratched, high-gloss laminate with just three small 'thumbnail' creases to the opening edge.
Apart from very slight bruising to the right corners, all are clean and sharp with no heavy bumps. Both opening edges are clean & sharp both sides with no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean & with just a few faint fingermarks but no discolouration writing or missing paper.
All flipbacks are in-place, clean & undamaged and both seams & the spine are undamaged.
Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT
Crisp, flat & uncreased with no splits or tears.
