THE BEATLES - 'YESTERDAY'
UK 1966 *1st PRESS* EP
This hard to find 1966 1st UK pressing 4-track EP is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8948
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text with 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 894-1 & 7TCE 895-1
Stamper codes: 2/P & 3/GO
The discs is housed within a superb front laminated, rounded bi-flipback picture cover.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
A clean & undamaged pair which display a small collection of light spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: VERY GOOD
The playing surfaces are clean but have lost their surface gloss during storage. However, apart from this and some harmless wispy hairlines directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp, there are no further major blemishes or wear. Both sides lie 100% flat when playing.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has received a moderate amount of play and some light background noise is audible throughout, especially on 'Yesterday'. However, there are no clicks, pops or any other such distractions anywhere.
Cover
EXCELLENT +
A real gem of a cover which apart from a single 2.5cm wrinkle on the front panel is 'as new'. All corners and opening edges are completely unworn and the rear panel is pristine white and totally unmarked.
