Beatles - Yesterday and Today LP US Capitol mono press 2nd state butcher cover

You are bidding on a US mono pressing copy of the Beatles - Yesterday and Today LP released by Capitol Records in 1966. This is T-2553. Second state butcher cover! This has the usual tell-tale sign of the butcher cover, the upside down black triangle (which is Ringo's black turtleneck in the original butcher photo) that is visible to the right of the trunk. Also, you can actually see at the bottom edge on the front of the jacket near the lower lefthand corner a little tiny sliver of where the new paste on does not cover the original artwork. The paste on of the trunk photo is pretty nicely done on this copy and it is still very much intact with no peeling. The record is only in G+ condition. Both sides, especially side 2, have scratches in scuffs, and overall is not a particularly good play copy. The record labels are in VG condition. The record  jacket is overall in G+ condition with some shelfwear, edgewear, and ringwear. The entire spine of the jacket is split top to bottom (see picture), and there is a two inch seam split on the bottom seam of the jacket starting at the mouth. The jacket is still very much intact otherwise. This all said, this still would make a decent display copy for a collector looking for a second state butcher copy jacket.

We visually grade all of our records for sale and grade both the record and the jacket. We go by general standards for grading, which are:

Mint (M) - an unplayed, new copy of a record. no visual defects!

Near Mint (NM) - a nearly perfect record that has usually only been played 1-3 times, in "like new" condition.

Very Good + (VG+) - record still in excellent condition but has minor signs of wear such as surface scuffs/light scratches that don't affect the play. jacket has minor signs of wear such as light ringwear, edgewear, shelfwear, and/or light creasing.

Very Good (VG) - record has more wear than VG+ and may have some slight surface noise, light pops, some scuffs or scratches.  generally still a great playing copy.  jacket may have more wear, writing, sticker residue, punch out/cut out holes or corners.

Very Good - (VG-) - record has noticeable groove wear, surface noise, scratches, and/or scuffs but still a decent playing copy. jacket has heavier wear and may have a small split seam.

Good + and Good (G+ and G) - record still plays without skipping but has considerable amounts of groove wear, surface noise, scuffs, and/or scratches.  jacket has alot of wear and some defects such as split seams, heavy creasing, writing, marks, sticker residue, etc...
