This rare Canadian extended play was issued in May, 1964. The disc contains four tracks, Roll Over Beethoven, All My Loving, This Boy and Please, Mr. Postman. All four tracks had already been issued in Canada on two successful singles and as a result there was not a high demand for the E.P. Less than 5000 were pressed in the first and only pressing run. There was no subsequent pressing.
A classic Deso Hoffman image in monochrome was used against a pale orange to brown background on both sides of the cover. Unlike the US release which used slicks the Canadian release was printed directly on cardboard. Also, the cover sports the Parr's logo along with "Litho in Canada". The pressing was made from parts shipped from the Capitol records Scranton plant with the matrix and Scranton pressing logo (IAM) stamped in the run-off. The matrix stamped in this particular record is: F1-2121-G4 #2 & F2-2121-G6 #2
In the context of Beatles' collectibles, and as the only extended play released in Canada and given the small pressing run, this disc qualifies as a rarity.
Condition: Vinyl = VG Play tested. Surface noise and crackle on the lead-in tracks and between tracks. Visible scuffs and marks but the disc plays through without skips or jumps. The value is in the sleeve. Sleeve = See photographs. No splits, no ring wear, a faint number to the left of George's head on one side. Very good corners, slight wear to one corner on one side, very good opening edges. Overall shows minor small signs of wear and handling.
