Description

Let It Be 1970

PXS 1: PCS 7096

Matrix: YEX 773-2U and YEX 774-2U

Stampers: 1(G)OT and 2TO: The (G) used under the (1) is not uncommon on EMI pressings although it does look more like a (6)

Listed as PXS 1 (although, rather oddly, not printed anywhere) the Let It Be boxed set is comprised of the following:

Outer Slip Case:

This is in very good condition, displaying no major faults, just mild creasing but still retaining smooth, glossy laminate both front and back. All edges are straight and undamaged, only showing general rubbing/bumping, from storage. The box remains solid and has not been crushed flat at any time.

Inner Tray:

The matt black card is completely intact, only displaying some fairly mild creases, mainly to the flaps and rubbing/bumping to the edges.

Book Tray:

This extremely fragile item is in fair condition. Overall, the flimsy card has survived in good shape, except for the vulnerable points next to the four corners where the book sits. The top two corners are torn along their face edges but remains intact along the vertical fold. The two bottom corners have become torn right through but are held in place by neat, clear tape  underneath, which could be removed if you so desire. It is worth bearing in mind that because of the difficulty in removing the heavy book from the tray, many were simply discarded and so, are often missing from the set. You can, of course, now purchase replica replacements (slightly different shade, though) but these trays are 100% geniune originals.

Get Back Book:

So named because this was to be the original album title before it became Let It Be. This houses a fabulous collection of photographs from the sessions at Twickenham studios. This copy is in outstanding condition with no missing, or loose pages (a common problem) and apart from a few very light creases to the cover, is in near mint order. There is a thin line, next to the spine, where the laminate is not stuck down but I believe this is nothing more than something that has been there from manufacture, as the laminate is smooth and unbroken.  This is also the third and final correction issue of this book. The photograph above shows the printed credits page which was left completely blank on the first copies, some of which then had pasted-in credits, to save wasting the book. So with this copy, here is the book as it was intended, with its printed credits page.

Red Apple Sleeve:

Only issued with the 'Box Set', this is in fine shape, showing some general creasing, front and back but with square corners and a razor sharp spine and all text perfectly legible and undamaged. There is no laminate 'bubbling' present.

Patented Inner Sleeve:

Near mint, absolutely no defects, just mild creasing.

Let It Be Record:

This 2U/2U disc is in excellent order. Both sides have retained a strong, glossy lustre, only display light surface marks, mainly under bright light. Audio qualty is near mint from this superb example. The labels are in perfect condition, with just the usual collection of light spindle trails.

All in all, a fabulous addition to any Beatles collection.

I have other Beatles items listed, please take a look.

Please read the following information:

For reasons best known only to themselves and their psychiatrists, some members will outbid genuine bidders to win an auction, only to vanish without paying or replying to emails. For this reason, if you have feedback of less than 10, please contact me before bidding, to confirm your ability to complete the transaction. Failure to do so will result in your bid being immediately cancelled and the item offered to a bidder with a higher score.

I always listen to the whole disc and try to give an honest description of its performance. Being a buyer as well, I have experienced the irritation of receiving an item which, although not described dishonestly, has had important details 'conveniently' omitted from the write up. It is not uncommon, on used vinyl, to experience the odd dust pop, particularly in the run ins/offs, so please bear this in mind. I will tell you if there are any skips, stalls, repetitive clicks, crackle or sound deterioration. For your own peace of mind, I will give you a, no quibble, full refund (including the cost of return postage), if you find your purchase unacceptable. Thank you.
