This single has become a cult psychedelic classic and its original vinyl pressing is very, very highly sought after, its supreme rarity in this original vinyl form only adding to its desirability.
This DEMO copy is the ultimate item!! Even rarer than the already exceedingly rare copies that were officially released.
Mandrake paddle steamer was a well established 5 piece band on the psychedelic scene in the late sixties (established by Brian Engle & Martin Briley). They supported Pink Floyd at Walthamstow Collage, gigged at collage dates, all the psychedelic clubs, and did sessions on John peel’s “Top Gear” show.
So as strange as it seems this record was the only one they produced, mind you for no less than EMI / Parlophone!
SOUND QUALITY
The record plays LOUD, CLEAR, BRIGHT and has NO scratches, ticks, pops or jumps.
There is a minor static at some of the loudest parts only, I don’t know why, as in every other respect it plays like a mint record.
VISUAL
The A side vinyl is in MINT visual condition.
The B side is also in MINT visual condition bar one tiny, very light surface mark on the last few turns as the run-out groove starts, very top surface only, no encroachment into the actual depth of the sound grooves and producing NO noise of any kind
The labels are in perfect condition, just look at the photographs.
The sleeve is THE ORIGINAL and EXACTLY AS ISSED being a Green Parlophone Company sleeve with album ads on the rear side, including the Beatles. It is in excellent + condition.
