Beatles-Rel. 45 1968 Cilla Black, McCartney’s Step Inside Love PROMO, NM!
I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…
Written during the White Album sessions by Paul, and given to Cilla as the theme song for her TV show, “Cilla,” this 45 went almost unnoticed in the U.S. She barely peeked her head inside the Top 100 with this one.
**By the way, that’s Paul playing acoustic guitar, and John Paul Jones from pre-Led Zeppelin playing bass. Produced by our own Sir George Martin.**
U.S. commercial copies are not plentiful, although you’ll find one with persistence in decent condition enough.
The promos are scarce as hen’s teeth, and this one’s a stunner.

Vinyl: NM/NM. Nearly store-stock new. A light manufacturer’s defect is on Side 1.
Plates: Both sides have the machine-stamped “Bell Sound” insignia from Bell Records deep and pronounced.
Labels: EX/NM. Actually, both labels are NM 1968 brand new-looking. But the Side 1 label is starting to come unglued at the playhole. Aren’t we all these days?
Sleeve: VG+. Company Bell sleeve has some wrinkling, very little dirtwear and NO yellowing. Back of the sleeve has a small tear at the label window. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
**Note: All 45’s ship outside of their sleeves in order not to damage the sleeve during shipment. Generic plain, white sleeves and Mylar provided.**
Great song. I’ve always loved this one. You should YouTube it if you’ve never heard Cilla’s version. Your Beatles collector will love to see this one on Christmas morning!
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
