READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles-Rel. LP John Lennon Plastic Ono Band Taiwan Import with Winchester Plates!

(At least I think it’s Taiwanese.  Korean characters use ovals and circles, and I know this isn’t a Japanese pressing.)

**The really kooky thing about Asian pressings of this album is that many of the ones with Asian pressing plates tend to have censored the “Working Class Hero” track by inserting a second of silence where the “F” bomb is dropped.  (However, they were kind enough to print the lyrics on the back cover!)

It’s unusual to find copies out of Asia that aren’t censored, and since I don’t have a turntable, I will be honest and say that I’ve never played this copy.  I picked it up because of the plates being American Winchester plates, complete with all its stamps.

There’s a better-than-average chance that this copy is uncensored, and I hope the winner will let me know if it is, just for fun.

Vinyl--- VG+/VG+.  I’m assuming that the vinyl’s condition is pretty close to how it was issued.  The only problem is that each side has manufacturer’s marks that are non-feelable.  They just look ugly.

Plates--- Z5/Z6.  Hand-etched Delta symbol (or rifle) in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Winchester.

Also present on each side are the “Bell Sound” and “sf” machine stamps.

The only question mark regarding whether these are the uncensored plates is the fact that the Taiwanese-assigned catalogue number is also lightly etched into the plates on both sides.

Cover--- VG+.  Cover construction is of thin paper that was encased in plastic.  Cover is well-preserved, but with a little fading.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.  Banner across the top is printed, rather than being a sticker.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Apart from manufacturer’s burns, the labels are just as they were printed and issued.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

**John’s name is misspelled as “Lenon,” both sides.

Inner Sleeve--- Because of the cover’s construction being a light plastic film, these LP’s were not issued with inner sleeves.  I’ve provided a new one for you.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
