READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles-Related LP 1970 Yoko/Plastic Ono Band Only Copy I’ve Seen with a Plant Number!

Beatles and related solo LP’s on the Apple label aren’t known to have plant numbers on their jackets in the U.S.  I’ve seen a rare copy of Ram with one on the inside gatefold, and maybe a Sometime in NYC if memory serves.  Then, there are the Record Club Apple issues for other Apple artists that have the number 16.

This is the only copy of the already-rare Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band LP that I’ve seen with a plant number. 

It’s an “18” cover.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Vinyl looks brand new.

Plates--- Z10/Z10.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.  Also has the machine-stamped “Bell Sound” and the “sf” initials.

Cover--- VG+.  That’s still a very strong grade.  Cover looks brand new, front and back.  The exceptions are that the seams all have very light shelfwear, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.  Back cover has 4 very small circle indents on Yoko’s cheek.  See photo.

Otherwise, the cover is extremely nice.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Labels look brand new.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Apple Inner Sleeve--- Nice VG.  Sleeve is uniformly yellowed over the last 50 years.  Has more wrinkles than a VG+ sleeve should have.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Apple inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 18. 

Whatever you think of Yoko’s music, try and find another one of these. They don’t exist.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
