Beatles-Related LP John Lennon 1973 Mind Games First Pressing STILL SEALED!

Vinyl--- NM SEALED.

Plates--- NM SEALED.

Cover--- NM SEALED.  PROMO hole at the top right corner.  It’s assured that this copy is a Los Angeles pressing with the brighter green Apple labels, since the promos were only issued out of the mother plant, which was Los Angeles.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover.  One is due south of the album title and John’s name, the other is due south of that one in the field.  There’s a very small piece of shrink missing to the right of John’s feet.

Labels--- NM SEALED.

Apple Inner Sleeve--- NM SEALED.

(Fun fact for those who enjoy them: In 1983, McCartney told Musician Magazine that he had used John’s separation from Yoko in 1973 to visit John, and to clear the air, regarding their bitter public feud.  That evening, Paul confronted John about the songs, "How Do You Sleep,” “Crippled Inside,” and John’s statement to Rolling Stone magazine a few years earlier, that Paul “shat all over us in public and then used it to sell an album.”  Paul admitted that he ‘broke down crying when he heard John describe how I had publicly humiliated him.’  In his 1982 LP, “Tug of War,” Paul mentions that evening in his song, “Here Today.”

But what many fans don’t realize is that John wrote a song about that evening as well, and it appears on this album.  One of my favorite tracks from this great, underappreciated LP, “I Know (I Know)” is assumed to have been written to Yoko.  But here are a few subtle references that we all missed. 

First, the song starts off with Paul’s “I’ve Got a Feeling” opening riff.  Secondly, John sings, “Today, I love you more than…” well, you’ll have to have a listen for the next word.  And finally, John sings, “And I know…” (what?) “it’s getting better all the time.”  And then John ends the song by singing, “No more crying.”

It’s perfect that this track appeared on an album called “Mind Games.”  Go back and read the lyrics to this song.  It’s full of forgiveness.
