Recorded in England in December 1967 and India in January 1968, this soundtrack to the film Wonderwall, has a few 'firsts' to its credit.
1st solo project from a Beatle, 1st Apple LP to be released and 1st Apple LP to be deleted. It also failed to chart in the UK.
Both sides of the disc have retained most of their original lustre. Audio quality is near mint, showing no appreciable deterioration. However, there are numerous light marks, which do produce a little crackle and pop here and there but nothing too intrusive. The whole album plays through with crystal clarity and without any stalls or jumps.
The labels are in good condition, showing numerous spindle trails but no damage or writing. Side 2 has a blemish, visible in the photo, which I believe has been there from new and is an imperfection in the label.
The original fully laminated, thick card sleeve, is in fine condition, displaying mild creasing but no heavy bends. The corners are square and the internal flaps are tight. The wording on the ultra thin spine is perfect.
The insert is in great shape with no real problems, just general age toning and a tiny blemish on one side.
The fragile, black inner sleeve (used with the White album and Abbey Road) is in brilliant condition. The single die cut centre is perfect. However, the only fault is a rip to the left seam where the disc has penetrated.
All in all, this rare 1st edition, deleted copy, is a fine addition to any Beatles collection.
