When avant-garde drummer Beaver Harris formed the 360 Degree Music Experience, he wanted to provide a musical forum that would bring together jazz vets and younger players.

This album certainly forges the two, side 1 offering us traditional jazz fare in A.M. RAG, CAN THERE BE PEACE, IT’S HARD TO BUT WE DO, and I WISH I KNEW, with the likes of Doc Cheatham on trumpet, Marshall Brown on trombone, Ron Carter on bass, Dave Burrell on piano, and Jimmy Garrison on drums -- even Maxine Sullivan is here on two cuts providing vocals.

Side 2 is something else again, ROUND TRIP a much more modern piece, together with an outstanding AFRICAN DRUMS Cadenza that will please any audiophile/jazz aficionado.
