Description
WHY COLLECTORS WANT THIS ONE Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic recorded the complete Beethoven symphonies three times, and this is the 1977 remake: a polished, powerful, superbly engineered cycle from the orchestra at the height of its Karajan-era sound, presented as a library box. Being straight with you, this is the common one. Over 2,200 copies are logged on Discogs, and it sits in the shadow of Karajan's celebrated 1963 cycle (DG 2721 060, discs SKL 101-108). That 1963 set is the collector's target; this is the more affordable 1977 remake.
