Description

Beethoven, "Emperor" Concerto No5 In E Flat Major, op. 73 ("Emperor") Backhaus, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt, 1959. Decca Records, Cat No, SXL.2179, Run Out Matrix, ZAL-4597-2E & ZAL-4598-2E. I think this may be a first pressing going on the SXl Cat No, Original Recording By on top left of label & groove in label. I would class the vinyl as in very good condition, looks totally unmarked when record is tilted & viewed under good light, plays fine with no sticks/jumps, some very light background noise in places the only thing which stops me classing it as Ex, would probably improve with a bit of a clean, personally I wouldn't bother. The sleeve is EX, original inner. The only other one of these I can find on E:Bay is on sale at £125, so grab a bargain if this is your thing, any questions, please ask.

I grade my records by the following.

EX- Totally unmarked, plays with no sticks/jumps & very little background noise.  

VG- Some light surface marks visible, plays with no sticks/jumps, some background noise can be heard, mainly between tracks or on some quieter parts, nothing major.

GD- More pronounced surface marks visible, plays with no sticks/jumps, but surface noise may be more evident with occasional pops/rotation clicks etc.

Fair- Surface marks highly visible, plays with no sticks/jumps, but background noise will consist of pops/ rotation clicks, background static/crackle which in some cases may get in the way of the music. 

Poor- Record will have at least one jump/skip.
