Description
Pianist Friedrich Wührer plays Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 4, on original 1951 red-label Remington LP. Not the later two-color label. This is the true first pressing If you are like me and a Remington collector, you know that these records are near impossible to find in such good condition as this, especially the copies on the heavy original red label graphite discs. This copy is the best I have ever seen. Excellent condition, with a touch of faint wear, and maybe just a couple of pops now and then, but only a very small few. These early deep groove records can have some innate noise about them, but the sound is a particularly special thing. You Remington fans know what I mean.. the presence is unlike anything. Really an incredible sound, easily the best of all early US classical LP labels. This copy sounds just fantastic. A touch of light wear but barely anything much. The cover is really in unusually good shape, too, with about 4 inches of seam split at the top and bottom edge, but none in the spine. No bent corners or ringwear. A really lovely copy.
