genuine UK ED1 Wide Band Grooved stereo first pressing of members of the Vienna Octet performing Beethoven's Quintet for Piano & Wind, Op. 16 and Louis Spohr's Octet on the prestigious Decca Records label (SXL 2158).
This copy features the highly coveted first-state black label with the deep physical groove and the famous "ORIGINAL RECORDING BY THE DECCA RECORD CO. LTD. LONDON" text running along the upper rim of the silver band. It is globally revered by classical vinyl purists for its pristine microgroove analog engineering and magnificent, beautifully balanced chamber instrument dynamic soundstage.
Vinyl Disc (Very Good Plus / VG+): The vinyl displays an excellent, deep mirror-gloss finish. Under direct light, it exhibits minor visual sleeve-removal hairlines and superficial handling scuffs consistent with its age, but remains completely free from any deep or feelable scratches. Labels are clean and crisp with sharp silver text. Matrix stamping in the dead wax reads a true first-state: ZAL-4464-1E.
Sleeve (Very Good Plus / VG+): Original front-laminated jacket featuring the striking pink-red starburst design. The front cover art is exceptionally bright and clean with crisp edges and excellent gloss. The uncoated rear cover shows standard light storage aging and minimal wear.
