Original UK Vertigo spiral label stereo first press LP.
Beggars Opera were a rock band from Glasgow, formed in 1969 by guitarist Ricky Gardiner & vocalist Martin Griffiths and signed by Vertigo in 1970. Act One is their first LP and includes many elements of symphonic progressive rock, including a number references to classical music (e.g. Poet and Peasant and Light Cavalry by Franz von Suppe & Grieg's Peer Gynt).
This copy has apparently been signed by all the members of the band, but i have no COA to be certain if these are real and it comes with the earliest 1Y/1 2Y/1 matrices and matching 1-1-3 stampers of the first pressings!
  The Howards Printers matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some storage rubbing and some corner/edge wear on the outer cover, the inner cover has some rubbing and staining and has signatures in biro. The spine is intact and fully readable, the spiral inner is intact and in VG+ condition.   The record is in visually VG+ condition, with quite a few faint hairlines and light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few spindle markings!   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves and in a couple of the quieter passages and overall it plays much better than it looks and is still a really great listen!   The matrix nos. are; 6360018, 1Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-3, 2Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-3. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st press of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!
    All records are checked on an Acoustic Research deck before being listed and any flaws noted in the listing, so if you have any problems with the record please contact me for a full refund of original price & postage on return of the record (no partial refunds), no quibbles, no problems!   All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide.
  All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!   UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg,

Will post to Europe (including all EU countries & Russia, Finland, Sweden, etc.) and Rest of the World (USA, Japan, Australia, Korea etc.), but airmail is limited to 5 or 6 lp's due to 2kg weight restrictions.
