Nice analog reissue of Ben’s legendary 1971 Vertigo LP, one of the most sought-after cult titles in the UK jazz-rock/progressive canon.
Featuring intricate saxophone work by Peter Davey and the sophisticated interplay of Alex Macleery, David Sheen, and Gerry Reid, this self-titled album blends Canterbury-style experimentation with a melodic, spiritual intensity.
Originally released on Vertigo’s swirl label, Ben has become a holy-grail record for collectors of early-’70s fusion and psych-prog.
