Bennie Turner & The Armorettes – ‘No More Crying’ / ‘Ching-Ching-Wong’ – Skymac 1003 (US)

 

Here’s a pair of great tunes by a singer who had one more release on the obscure Skymac label, the beautiful ballad ‘I Want To Know’ – both Skymacs coming out in 1963, I think – and, as Benny Turner, three excellent singles on Chicago’s One-Derful and M-Pac! labels (in 1963, 1964, and 1965, respectively). Of all his songs, ‘No More Crying’ is one of the best, with Northern Soul and popcorn interest to match.

Condition: VG++ close to Excellent; a little dust, that’s all (please listen to the clips). Clean labels (please see scans).

Shipping from Sweden is expensive – though the rest of the world is surely catching up – not least due to the fact that the weight increments are few and far apart, but it’s usually swift and safe.
