Description
For your consideration, an original issue (Columbia 2856-D, blue wax) of Billie Holiday’s debut recording, with Benny Goodman and His Orchestra: Your Mother’s Son-In-Law (27 November 1933). Flip side is Tappin’ The Barrel (4 December 1933), vocal by Jack Teagarden. Both sides were pressed with mother A, stamper #1.
This copy was graded E- (Holiday) / E (Teagarden) by the previous owner. There are rim chips which do not affect play, and lams on both sides which (again) do not affect play – please see photographs. This copy comes from my personal collection, accumulated during research for my book, Benny Goodman: A Supplemental Discography.
