This auction is for Benny Spellman's Insanely Rare Killer Northern Soul classic on London UK 7" Lipstick Traces / Fortune Teller 1st UK Pressing in original London company sleeve! Released in 1962 and what some say as one of the earliest Northern Soul Classics. Personally it's about the B-Side for me, Fortune Teller. An incredible song even pitched up against some of todays great artists……. i'll think of one in a minute… hang on!
Vinyl and Sleeve Grading
VINYL: Visual Grading
Side 1: VG+
The vinyl is VG+ but does have signs of light use. A couple of light and small surface scratches are just visible when reflecting the record in the light but nothing deep nor anything that affects play. These London pressings are renowned for top vinyl quality and nice think slabs.
SIDE 2: VG+
Same as side 1, light signs of use and one small light surface scratch which does not affect play. Nice shine to the wax on both sides and nothing visually off putting.
VINYL PLAY GRADE:
I have sat and listened to this single in full to make sure your listening experience is not affected in anyway. If any issues are detected they will be clearly noted below. I will not sell any records that skip or jump. All my records are professionally cleaned before play grading and delivered to the winning bidder!
Side 1: VG+
Loud and crisp pressing with no continuous hiss or loud audible anomalies. Plays through without any jumps, skips, loops or consistent crackling. There is slight static at the beginning before the track starts but very quiet and nothing different from any other 51 year old record.
Side 2: VG+
What seems a super loud pressing of this absolute northern soul banger! Great audio or a spectacular song. Same as with side 1, nothing jumps or skip and plays through without any issues.
LABELS: VG-VG+
Little or no signs of use except that some buffoon has written their name on a small piece of tape and stuck it to one side of the labels, Fortune Teller B-side. Other than that both labels are in VG+ condition with little to no spindle marks.
SLEEVE: EX
The original London company sleeve is in excellent condition, nice and crisp, rip and stain free.
