Description
This is a previously unreleased one sided Acetate 78 by Bererly Mohr
Charlie Is My Darling
Frankay & Jackson Recording Specialists label out of New York Ctiy
The was cut to be for a radio broadcast over radio station WEAF, on 9/20/41.
It was called Week-end Whimsy Program.
She never recorded before, but she's got a professional voice, and she'd be a very fitting big band vocalist.
Her backup band also sounds top notch.
The play grooves are in VG+ condition, but the first approximately 20 seconds into the music the playing grooves have flaked or chipped
off the record, so that part is not playable.
Certainly a one of a kind item, and probably the only copy in existence, so this is most likely the only way to get this recording.
You can hear a sample taken from this acetate with an LP needle, starting about 20 seconds into the record by clicking the player below
