Berliner 109 - Private Tommy Atkins

86s.  First of all, let me apologize for not having my Berliner book handy to properly identify this record.  All the information I have has been taken from the label.  The spelling of the last name of the artist is uncertain - could be Boswell or something similar.  The number 2147Z has been crossed out and 109 stamped in above.  Also, the "Made in Canada" stamp with the Canadian patents is stamped upside down just below the two numbers.  A date of Feb. 24, 1897 is also faintly visible (upside down again) in this jumble of letters and numbers.  The condition is just about what you would expect for an average Berliner - rough start, worn grooves and some pressing depressions.  There are no cracks, chips, digs, needle runs or deep scratches, so the disc plays through with no problems.  I'll grade it a 5 on a scale of 10 - again, just about average.
