Arthur Pryor & Henry Higgins - Trombone & Cornet

Berliner 221W - July 8, 1898

42s.  Here's a delightful Berliner - two of the star soloists from Sousa's Band playing the well known Trovatore duet.  It is signed in the wax by both artists and the label information is set in the wonderful early typeface seen on the early Berliners.  There are no cracks, chips, pits or deep scratches on the record, but since it is an extremely early disc it does have it's share of surface rubs and marks.  There is a rough start, but it clears up quickly, and the sound is loud and very straightforward.  Let's call it just a little above average for a Berliner - perhaps a 6 on a scale of 10.  This disc will be an important addition to your Berliner collection.
