Another of our early Berliner Gramophone records for sale featuring " clarionetest " A.P. Stengler. This record plays fairly well over and above the surface noise. The appears top be no skips or faulty grooves. This record however, should be played on a modern turntable using a low mass 78 rpm stylus and cartridge to prevent any excess wear or damage to the playing surface. A.P. Stengler was probably one of the anonymous artists used to record for some John Philip Sousa records on other labels. This is a nice collectible and a fairly scarce one at that. Oh, and the modern term for the clarionet is clarinet, the former word having fallen out of use.
