Description
Here we have a rare and early Berliner Recording dating to 1895. The Title is 'The Street Fakir', and the person speaking is George Graham. It is a monologue of a Street 'Medicine Man' hawking his elixir which will do all sorts of good when taken internally. He speaks of it being the cure for about all ills, and mentions testimonials of people who had been 'cured'.
Berliner Records are seldom seen offered for sale. A rare and great piece of early recording history.
I've played it and after moving in a few grooves the roughness subsides and plays quite well all the way through. The surface of the record is clean and no chips or major defects. You might see on the playing surface some indentations which may have been there since new. Record plays through them with no issues.
