Recorded at Channel one, engineered by Ernest Hoo-Kim and Barnabas, mixed at King Tubby's, engineered by King Tubby and Prince Jammy. Players: Sly and Robbie, Gladiators Albert Griffiths and Clinton Fearon, Chinna Smith, Touter Harvey, Ansell Collins, Skully.

Heavy,atmospheric roots dub, March 1, 2001

Reviewer: (garypowell@talk21.com) from Swanage,Dorset Yabby You's rhythms always seem to sound particularly atmospheric when given the dub treatment and this album is no exception.The spiritual sound present in a lot of his material comes through strongly,even when the vocals are lost and the tracks are mixed down,in this case i'd guess by Prince Jammy in the late,late 70's. Plenty of nyabinghi style drumming and lots of horns complement Jammys usual wall rattling bass sound.A couple of the rhythms are familiar ones,but still sound fresh and different from other cuts,especially a percussion heavy version of the classic Conquering Lion rhythm.Heavy,atmospheric roots dub.
