Description

An original very difficult to find MONO 1st press of Cheap Thrills on the UK CBS label from 1968. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover. Also included is the original patents applied for generic white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a few very light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. One can understand someone seeking best audio would try and hunt down a top-level original mono - they sound absolutely fabbo. Intros and inbetweens are practically silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Even in those paired down low-key moments just beautifully clean audio. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. It's gonna take a serious search to even match the level on offer here. Please note the owner has signed one of the labels.
Cover (Ex-) In beautiful condition and might grade higher, but for a couple of slight issues. Lovely clean shiny unaged front with just a couple of small creases top-left. The rear is amazingly well preserved - remember that rear is unlaminated. Very very few copies will look this smart after 50 years of use and many will have aged. Please note there is a neat signature in the top-left. Edge wear is reasonably light. On the spine there's a bit more to observe so don't expect to make out much of the text. Overall the cover still lies nice and flat with great rigidity.
Inner (Vg) A bit of creasing and ageing. A couple of edges have been taped up. And there's a signature too.
