Big Star - Third / Sister Lovers Test Pressing Edition LP OVLP-1 (Omnivore, USA, 2011)
RSD Limited Edition Boxed LP. Box also contains facsimiles of log sheets and song music & lyrics.
Well, one of the best RSD releases I had pleasure of owning. A reissue of the test pressing for Big Star's quite incredible "Third". I can't recommend this album highly enough (it's been released in many different ways with different tracklists and mixes) but this version of the LP is rather special. NB - This is not an actual test pressing - 5 original pressings were scattered among the 2000 of these made.
Condition (I Grade NM / EX / VG+ / VG / VG- / G / F)
Sleeve - (CONDITION) VG+ No serious issues with the box - the top has become a bit mishaped from filing away, but it's not that noticeable. There is what looks like rubbing on the rear, but I can't tell if this is on the original box or on mine (the package is that well done!) Sticker still attached to the sleeve. Inner pieces hardly touched in their own sleeve.
Record - (CONDITION) - EX I bought this record to listen to, and I have! A few scuffs and marks and hairlines and a few issues with the pressing - a few bumps and one side is pressed off centre, but it doesn't really affect play noticeably - like the other defects - there's no real issues at all. Hardly no crackle, super audio - I did detect a few slight pops - but the record could probably be do with a clean. Some spindle marks and hole wear.
Who wants this? If you kicked yourself for not getting a copy of this first time round (I did - but luckily picked one up afterwards) - here's your chance! It isn't mint - but looks and sounds great. And let's face it - a sealed copy might have issues - and it'd be nigh on impossible to get a replacement.

- I PLAY GRADE virtually all of my items, as well as looking visually. Always read the description. It will normally tell you what you need to know.
- I remove records from their outer sleeves to avoid splitting. All records are packed in a plastic sleeve for extra protection.
