Description

Gene Evans, a 1960 graduate of Lubbock High School doing his first release on the Dart label number 132.  Recorded at Norman Petty's studio in 1960 (I thnk) it does have the petty/Holly sound.  Gene is a very very gifted vocalist that seems to waver between his own naturally beautiful voice and that of Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison.  If there was ever an over looked talent, Gene Evans is the man!  Big Time Ladies Man is a "Peggy Sue" sounding rocker that has been a favorite of mine for years.  Written by Slim and Sky Corbin and probably Gene the record is in VG+ condition and came from the private collection of a long time Lubbock resident.  One of rockabilly's greatest unsung heros.  And a great record.
