M&K Realtime Limited Edition, Direct To Disc Analogue Stereo Audiophile LP. Bill Berry & His Ellington All-Stars: "For Duke". 1978 [RT - 101]

This LP and jacket are in NEAR-TO-MINT CONDITION; great, awesome condition!!. It was in my Dad’s LP collection, and I’m not sure this record was ever played. (IF this was played at all, I can say it was only on a couple occasions; the M&K mail-in postcard to request a catalog is still in the jacket!)

The fold-out cover is shiny and in near perfect condition; only the slightest sign of wear on the bottom edge where it sat in the record vault.



This was recorded using direct-to-disc recording technique, an experimental, historic and acclaimed technique of the day. Wikipedia says this about direct-to-disc:

In the late 1970s, "direct-to-disc" records were produced, aimed at an audiophile niche market, which completely bypassed use of magnetic tape in favor of a "purist" transcription directly to the master lacquer disc. Also during this period, "half-speed mastered" and "original master" records were released, using expensive state-of-the-art technology.
