Description
This track is one of the most in-demand Northern Soul collectors items at the present time and remains a rare, obscure find despite featuring on top DJs playlists for the past three years.
Originally covered-up, 'I'm Waiting' was released on Stan Lewis' Ronn label in 1965 as a b-side to the ballad, A Velvet Touch, both written by Bush.
I am selling it on behalf of a collector in mainland Europe. It was sourced from a USA booking agent so has never been used for DJing.
Because of the likely selling price I will go into precise detail about the condition so that there are no surprises for the buyer. The only significant flaw is that the label is pressed slightly off-centre as you can see from the photo. Please note, only the LABEL is off-centre - the track is pressed perfectly and there is no effect on the vinyl which is dead-centre and plays perfectly. In normal circumstances this record would just be listed as 'Mint'.
It is in MINT condition using standard grading requirements - on very close inspection there is very slight mark on the run in on 'I'm Waiting' from being taken out/in the sleeve a couple of times perhaps but I do not consider this takes away from MINT given that it is now 40 years old. Under close inspection, very slight ridge wear on label from storage, again this does not affect grading in my experience and is not immediately visable. No scratches, bumps, hiss or clicks - no tears, writing or other marks on label.
When viewed flat during play the needle fluctuates <1mm but the record could not be described as warped as this is almost certainly as a result of storage again. No effect on play throughout and you will be unlikely to find a copy in better condition.
Such is the demand for this track that the off-centre label pressing should not have a significant effect on the selling price and I am not taking this, or any other of the above issues, into consideration in terms of the grading. This is a far more detailed description than would normally be given and no returns/complaints will be entertained on the basis of these points.
