Description

Bill Evans Trio - How My Heart Sings, catno 9473, 1964 US Stereo 1st pressing.

Matrix/run outs:

Side 1 - RS 9473 A
Side 2 - RS 9473 B
Both sides show small mistype crossouts alongside the above which maybe unique to this example.

A truly stunning example of a 56yr old Bill Evans record.  This is our 1 owner copy that has been archived out of sight and light, at least since 1983 and likely much longer.  This is borne out in a condition that amazes me and i will try to describe:

Vinyl -  Certainly Excellent+ or NM-.... most sellers would go NM and in context of the age of this that may seem fair.  Surface wise we are talking nothi g more than minor hairlines on both sides with no major marks.  Side one has a very small scuff mark but so light it wont affect playback.  Vs many new records it presents better than some!!  The labels are clean, there is a minor mark from spindle locating with the emphasis on minor. The record appears unwarped when placed on dads vintage, but currently out of order Linn Sondek.  It would be nitpicking to not be amazed by this one and call anything less than EX+ for it.

Jacket - original and in excellent solid shape all round with no seem or spine splits and no spine crush.  The jacket is lightly textured.  It feels fit for decades more service.  Only a small felt mark or two on the rear, predominantly a circled 'E' is to note anything untoward.  The inner sleeve is a oldie and poly lined but i doubt it can be the original as its Decca branded and made in the UK.  I think most of the US Riverside albums had some form of poly liners which didnt last, at least ive seen that on a few now.

Price wise.... the record is rare, in high demand vs supply, in amazing condition with lowest ownership and a history unlike most.  This edition has sold between £20 and £139 on discogs with the sole LP for sale now in the US and up for a not insignificant £292!  As this record represents a fine investment and example it only seems fair for it to command a higher price than average and yet i still think it should be considered very fair.

If it sells it will be packed safely and shipped asap likely guaranteed next day.

Thanks for looking!
