This is the second of two Riverside albums made up of selections recorded by the classic Bill Evans, Scott LaFaro, and Paul Motian trio at their legendary live recording session of June 25, 1961. Although originally issued a half-year later than Sunday At The Village Vanguard, this was by no means an afterthought collection of lesser items: Evans and producer Orrin Keepnews immediately recognized that there was more than enough material for two top-level records. The dozen chosen performances were subdivided to enable the first album released to feature LaFaro--who died in an auto accident just ten days after recording. Thus this second collection can fairly be said to present a more typical overview of this remarkable unit at work.

"Bill Evans' recordings almost always received good to excellent sound, and the Analogue Productions reissues are no exception. While I don't own the original releases, the 45 rpm reissues clearly better, even after VTA adjustments, the later OJC reissues or the earlier 33 1/3 rpm Analogue Productions releases. The 45 rpm reissues are more musical and transparent; instruments have greater three-dimensionality and frequency extremes, especially lower octaves, exhibit greater resolution and impact. The item will be packaged using a high quality LP mailer measuring 14" x 14" x 1" with additional packaging material for protection during shipping. This LP mailer allows for a layer of bubble, an inner layer of cardboard, a cardboard surround, and an outer cardboard box. For those familiar with the Music Matters mailers - this is the same. They offer maximum protection for the LP and they are the best I have seen.
If you live in the US and prefer a less expensive shipping method I can use a standard LP mailer and small packet US air service or US ground service (at approximately $16.00) however, your LP would travel in a standard LP mailer and will not have tracking or insurance.
Shipping is via Canada Post or UPS services although if you prefer FedEx or another shipper I will be happy to work with you. All shipping costs are charged without any mark-up or additional fees. No handling charges are applied. The item will ship within one business day of payment received.If purchasing from overseas I would strongly recommend Canada Post XpressPost service or UPS with tracking and insurance for items valued at $50.00 or more.
