Description
Cleaned on my ULTRASONIC RECORD CLEANING MACHINE - Unless Sealed! VISUALLY GRADED EXCEPT IN CIRCUMSTANCES REQUIRING PLAY. GRADES LISTED WITH A SLASH "/" eg. VG+/NM- TRANSLATES TO: VERY GOOD PLUS TO NEAR MINT MINUS. THE SLASH */* DOES NOT REFER TO THE GRADING OF EACH SIDE.
Note, all records are shipped in custom made mailer boxes - these are much stronger than the generic boxes available on the web. The vinyl is shipped outside of the sleeve, all in a plastic outer sleeve & another mailer insert. The box is marked 'Fragile' and 'Do not Bend'.
During the next week I will be listing some exceptional and highly desired Jazz albums (very early or 1st pressings) including a signed Kind Of Blue (Julian Cannonball Adderley), a signed Chet Baker, a signed Pharaoh Sanders, John Coltrane - Lush Life, Ballads, My Favorite Things, a signed Red Garland, Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby , Bud Powell - The Amazing 4009 etc etc.
These have been visually graded and play graded - on a Micro Seiki RX5000 TT with a Fidelity Research FR64S Tonearm with a Ortofon SPU Synergy GM Cartridge. I always listen to Mono records on the same TT with a SME 3009 Series III Tonearm with a SoundSmith Moving Iron MONO Cartridge. In general I find that listening to a Mono record via a MONO cartridge provides for a much better listening experience - less surface noise/static - than a mono record via a stereo cart.
Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby - 1962 MONO Riverside RLP 399 DG Ultrasonic Cleaned - please ignore reflections in the pics. I believe this is a 1st pressing.
Vinyl - ULTRASONIC CLEANED
Visual Grade - VG+ a couple faint hairlines / sleeve scuffs - nothing that impacts playback
Play Grade - VG+/VG++ a little static on the intro grooves. Please note your cartridge / audio set up may yield different results. I played this both on a Stereo and a Mono cart .. I would grade this mostly VG++ on the Mono cart.
Cover - See pics - VG-/VG Complete top seam split , almost complete spine split , 3" bottom split. the back and front are covers are still very nice .
I should have said this IS a first Press not that I believed it was. It's definitely a 1st Press, the Matrix are as follows:
